Oxygem - Deep Sea Creature Opal Ring

This Sea Creature Statement Ring features a stunning natural gem: a Green Opal with a beautiful color play. Each stone is unique, displaying different hues that can range from yellow and red to blue reflections.

This ring is particularly special to me because it is dedicated to a tiny microorganism, a wonder of nature living in the oceans, working to provide us with clean air to breathe: Prochlorococcus. This remarkable organism, despite its small size, is essential to life on Earth!

It is estimated that there are over 1 million species of algae, all capable of producing oxygen, but the most impressive is another microorganism, the Prochlorococcus. Despite being the smallest photosynthetic organism on Earth, it produces the most oxygen in the ocean! In fact, it contributes around 20-25% of the Earth’s oxygen supply.

To help safeguard the oceans—and, by extension, our lives and the lives of all creatures, both in and out of the water—for every Oxygem Ring sold, 25€ will be donated to the Ocean Conservancy Fund projects.

Recycled Sterling silver, with or without 21karat Vermeil Gold plating, an 1,4 carat green Ethopian Opal and a bunch of cubic zirconias of various shapes.

- 21 carat gold plating on 925 recycled Sterling Silver. The gold plating is a solid 2 micron thick layer of finest gold, and made to last up to a couple of years when well taken care of.
